Daniel P. Armstrong was born and raised in a small rural town in West Virginia. After graduating from Nicholas County High School in Summersville, WV, he attended Glenville State University and transferred to Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC to obtain his Associate Degree in Applied Science, Funeral Service Education. He and his wife, Kristen graduated mortuary school in 2005 and both passed their National Board Exams to practice funeral service. Daniel and Kristen are the proud parents of Macy K. Armstrong who is a junior at Appalachian State University where she auditioned and was accepted to the Appalachian State University Hayes School of Music to pursue a degree in music education with a minor in Sociology. Daniel and Kristen reside in Moore County on their hobby farm with their horses, donkeys, labradors and dachshunds. Daniel looks at the funeral service profession as a ministry and was called to the profession while in junior high school. Daniel has received his designation as a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (C.F.S.P.) for his dedication to the profession and going above and beyond the required coursework to be awarded this designation. Daniel has been serving the families of Moore, Lee, Harnett and Cumberland county for the last 20 years.
Ray grew up in Lillington working on the family farm and decided at an early age he wanted to do something more. He believes in professionalism and service, as well as honesty and transparency to every family that his funeral home serves.
In 2010, Ray was bestowed the honor of becoming the American Funeral Director Magazine "Funeral Director of the Year" where he was featured in an article that described his beginnings, hardships and dedication to the practice of funeral service.
Ann and Ray were married in 1961. Ann has always been right by her husbands side in helping him with every aspect of the funeral home. She has taken care of the finances since the first day the doors opened and remains in the position today. Ann also takes care of and orders all monuments and grave markers, as well as selling plots at the family owned cemetery, Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery. She and Ray have 2 children, Lisa and Marc.
Marc grew up watching his dad, Ray, serve the Spring Lake community and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1992. He is involved in every aspect of the family business, from the funeral home to Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Kristen Armstrong was born and raised in a small rural town in West Virginia. After graduating from Richwood High in Richwood, WV, she attended Concord University and transferred to Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC to obtain her Associate Degree in Applied Science, Funeral Service Education. She and her husband, Daniel graduated mortuary school in 2005 and both passed their National Board Exams to practice funeral service. Kristen and Daniel are the proud parents of Macy K. Armstrong who is a junior at Appalachian State University where she auditioned and was accepted to the Appalachian State University Hayes School of Music to pursue a degree in music education with a minor in Sociology. Kristen and Daniel reside in Moore County on their hobby farm with their horses, donkeys, labradors and dachshunds. Kristen knew at a very young age that she wanted to work in funeral service after watching the workings of one the first female licensed funeral directors in Nicholas County, WV and always admired her professionalism and dignity. Kristen has been serving the families of Moore, Guilford, Stokes, Chatham Lee, Harnett and Cumberland county for the last 20 years.
Frank completed his Funeral Service Education program at Fayetteville Technical Community College and is now a funeral assistant.
Nikki Jones is a licensed funeral director and embalmer who joined our firm in July of 2022. Nikki has over 20 years’ experience working in funeral homes. Nikki resides in Spring Lake with her husband and two dogs whom she refers to as her “children”. Nikki received her funeral service license in 2012 from Fayetteville Technical Community College. In 2021, Nikki graduated from Campbell University with her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She then went on to get her Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), and will graduate from Meredith College in 2023. In Nikki’s free time she enjoys DJing, hiking, biking, gardening, spending time outside and traveling.
Diana Carkeet, raised in Fayetteville by military parents, is a dedicated and compassionate professional in the funeral service industry. A graduate of Jack Britt High School, Diana went on to pursue her passion for helping others by earning an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service Education in 2023 from Fayetteville Technical Community College. She became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in August 2024. Outside of her career, Diana enjoys the company of her two beloved cats, Arlo and Luna, who she says are her children. Diana also enjoys playing video games and spending time with her loved ones. Her commitment to service and empathy for others make her a valuable asset to the community.
